Frequently asked questions.

The questions church and non-profit leaders ask us most, about software, fund accounting, Form 990, pricing and getting started.

It begins with a call about your needs in depth, then we provide a quote based on the financial data we request. If you accept, a formal engagement letter follows, then onboarding requests and a video call covering your current accounting systems and how we fit into them.
QuickBooks Online. We build the chart of accounts and class listing around your structure, which is what makes restricted and designated fund reporting work properly.
Yes. QuickBooks Online set-up is a one-time service covering the chart of accounts and class listing, settings, users and permissions, opening balances, bank feeds and categorization rules, and integration of your accounts payable, receivable, credit card and payroll platforms. It is quoted rather than published because the work varies with your structure.
Yes. As part of every engagement we close the two months before your start date. For records further behind than that, catch-up work is a separate one-time engagement, quoted after we review the situation. Organizations that were years behind have been brought current.
Fund accounting tracks money by purpose, keeping restricted and designated gifts separate from general operating funds. Churches and non-profits need it to stay transparent with givers and compliant with reporting rules. It is central to everything we do.
Most churches are exempt from filing Form 990, but many other non-profits are required to file, and some church-affiliated organizations are too. We keep your books 990-ready either way and work with your preparer at filing time.
Yes. Audit and review assistance is included from the Priority tier up, which means working directly with your auditors and providing the financial data they request. We do not conduct audits, reviews or compilations ourselves, and we do not file Form 990. Your records are kept ready so whoever does has what they need.
Absolutely. Our Fractional CFO service includes budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial guidance, and budget variance analysis is included at the Priority tier.
We are a specialized bookkeeping and fractional CFO practice, not a CPA firm. We keep your books accurate and audit-ready, and we coordinate directly with your CPA, auditor or 990 preparer.
No. We are based in Central Indiana and love serving local ministries, but our work is cloud-based, so we support churches and non-profits across the country.
Every restricted or designated gift is tracked in its own fund so you can report to givers exactly how their money was used, and so nothing is ever commingled with general funds.
Monthly service tiers start at published rates and every engagement is quoted after we review your financial data, because a two-account church plant and a multi-site organization are not the same job. QuickBooks Online set-up and catch-up work are one-time costs, quoted the same way.
