Overview

A finance seat at the table, without the salary.

Most growing churches and non-profits reach a point where the question stops being what happened last month and becomes what happens next year. Answering that well takes someone who can build a budget, model a forecast, read the trend and tell your board what it means. Hiring that person full time is often out of reach. This is the alternative.

The bookkeeping underneath is the full Priority service. On top of it sits budget creation, forecasting, trend analysis and financial commentary, high-level strategic planning, and advising on internal controls, policies, procedures and compliance. Accounts payable includes five on-demand payments a month when sent before noon Eastern, accounts receivable tracking extends to fifteen invoices, and invoices more than sixty days outstanding get a follow-up.

Every month there is a scheduled one-hour video call with your accountant. That hour can be a financial statement review, a forecasting session, planning, strategy, or simply the questions you have been saving up. Up to three people on your team can be in the conversation.

Common questions

Questions about Priority Bookkeeping & Fractional CFO.

For most churches and non-profits at this size, yes. You get budgeting, forecasting, board reporting, internal controls advice and a standing monthly hour, which covers the work a part-time finance director would do.
Whatever is most useful. Financial statement review, forecasting, financial planning, a strategy session, or working through questions your board has raised.
No. Filing returns and conducting audits, reviews or compilations are outside what MMB does at every tier. We work with your chosen preparer and auditor rather than replacing them. Preparation is a different thing and it is available: annual audit preparation and Form 990 filing support are paid add-ons on the Priority and Fractional CFO tiers.
Up to three employees, volunteers or board members can contact us directly, which usually covers a treasurer, an administrator and a board chair.
